Bekimon

Posted: September 16, 2010 in Uncategorized

We were having fun in the office watching different videos from youtube when Our manager asked us to see Bekimon. I wonder at first what is Bekimon is all about so I watched I wasn’t aware that it will be hilarious. The character is so funny that you will come to realize how dynamic our language is.

Definition:

BEKIMON ay noun : isang BAKLA, LALAKING BAKLA o BABAENG BAKLA na HARDCORE gumamit ng GAY LINGO sa usapan at kahit sarili n’ya ay hindi rin n’ya maintindihan minsan.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE BEKIMON?

Bekimon started from the existence of the word “Jejemon”. “Beki” from the word “bakla” and “mon” from the word “jejemon”.

Thanks to Kulapitot’s Blog for the definiton.

Here are some of the videos courtesy of youtube.com

Two years ago, I blog about two Promising talents namely Marie Digby and Voice Avenue particularly the voice of Alejandro Manzano and come to think of it… It so happen that both of these artists have actually have their own albums. Marie Digby who did a cover of Rihanna’s “Umbrella” has already released her Album entitled “unfold” with carrier single “Say it Again”

Video of her Carrier Single “Say It Again”

quite creative. . . and very nice not to mention she’s pretty.

Another is The Band named Boyce Avenue. They did the cover of numerous artists such as Jordin Spark’s “No Air”, Cold Play’s “Viva La Vida”, One Republic’s “Apologize” and many others. These guys are awesome that I think that their cover is better than the original one. Boyce avenue had it’s carrier single entitled “Change Your Mind”.

The band also Hit Metro manila last February. Here is their video of Change Your Mind.

This is quite good but I think that they should have chosen other song rather than this as a carrier single.

The thing is… At least they already achieved their dreams of having their own Identity in the
music scene.

Good Shots AC!

Posted: September 13, 2010 in Uncategorized

I am so happy to know that my friends are actually living their dreams. I have a friend Aileen Camile Dimatatac, a college and a dear friend of mine was able to show me all of her shots on her very own DSLR, ( I envy her actually lols) and to tell you honestly, she shoots like a “PRO”. Her shots was very promising and she was able apply all the things we have learned in our photo journalism class way back in college.

I actually envy her because that’s one thing I would also like to do. A hobby and a Job as well.
I am happy for her. Given a chance, I will also buy DSLR for myself too. Please continue to inspire and touch people with your craft and best of Luck! God Bless!

Honestly… it was an awesome experience watching her sang those songs… you too better check it out! These are just three of her songs. (I just love her!)

Umbrella (Rhiana)

What I’ve Done (Linking Park)

Makes Me Wonder (Maroon 5)

She’ll be releasing her own album with a lot of original songs… better check it out!

… and if there’s a remarkable female acoustic singer… theres also a male counterpart… trust me… he’s very good!

Boyce Avenue

Boyce Avenue featuring (Alejandro Manzano)

My Personal Favorite…. Apologize (Timbaland and One Republic)

I guess you’ll agree with me that he’s better singing ”With You” than Chris Brown…

I’m a fan of Transformers… and I also like it’s OST from Linkin Park. Check this out…

and  Take You There (Sean Kingston)

He also sings better than a duet (Hate that I love You) Chris Brown and Rhiana…

… and John Mayer’s “Say” it’s worth listening… enjoy!

Very inspiring isn’t it? hmmm…

The Ironic Truth!

Rice

The country (The Philippines)is now facing a major turning point in its reputation as rice producing country, from being in the lead in rice production in Asia… is now one with least when it comes to technology and various aspects in rice production, not to mention that The Philippines is facing a rice shortage in the coming months.

The National Food Authority (NFA) Secretary Arthur Yap announced that they are in control of the situation. In fact NFA employees in Quezon City repack rice  for distribution in Metro Manila to dispel rumors of a rice shortage.

Lets face it! We Filipino can’t let a single day without eating rice. If fact it is already a part of every meal of a typical Filipino Family. Now that the country is facing a rice shortage in the coming months, its price increased drastically in the market. Before… rice can be bought for 18 – 22 pesos per kilo… now its 26 – 30 pesos a kilo. How can “Juan Dela Cruz” be able to get along with it on a daily basis, epecially if ”HE” is earning  only the minimium wage.

Way back in 70’s and early 80’s, The country took the pride as the leader in rice production in Asia. Countries like: China, Japan, India, Vietnam and other neighboring country have to sent scholars to the Philippines to learn the technology here and apply it to their home land, that is something to for us to be proud of… then… But what went wrong? As time passed by, those countries who went to the Philippines to study are now the best in rice production. In Fact according to International Rice Research Institute or (IRRI), the Philippines  rank  9th on top 10  rice producing country, plus the fact that those country that we taught in rice production overtook us in the ranking.

http://www.irri.org/science/cnyinfo/10.asp

  1. China
  2. India
  3. Indonesia
  4. Bangladesh
  5. Vietnam
  6. Thailand
  7. Myanmar
  8. Japan
  9. Philippines
  10. Brazil

Sad? Yes its is sad. Gone were the days that we export our grains to other countries to meet their needs, but now….it’s the other way around. isn’t that Ironic?
